Cold Insulation

Cryo-insulation is crucial for reducing energy consumption and improving energy efficiency, especially at LNG terminals. This is particularly important as liquefied natural gas is stored and transported at very low temperatures (-160 °C).

ALTRAD experts are involved in the cryogenic insulation of major LNG terminals in Germany, highlighting the company's expertise in the development, installation, and maintenance of LNG facilities with a focus on cryogenic insulation.

For cryo-insulation, we use high-quality materials such as polyisocyanurate (PIR) rigid foam or multilayer foam glass insulation, complemented by high-quality vapor barriers. These materials ensure the necessary insulation at extremely low temperatures.

To protect the insulation from mechanical and weather-related influences, special claddings such as VA or Aluzinc-coated steel or aluminum and UV-resistant fiberglass-reinforced plastic are used.

ALTRAD ensures that the cryogenic insulation meets the industry standards of the LNG sector, supported by well-trained personnel who follow strict quality control procedures during the installation of the insulation.
